Our company is dedicated to producing content of the highest quality for young audiences, to both entertain and educate children of all ages.
Pat & Pals is a new type of publishing company - we believe in the power of story and characters, that are as important on a computer or television screen, as they are on the printed page. We believe in publishing for young people whether they are reading, or watching, or clicking, or typing - we believe this is how stories should be told.
For our launch, we are republishing Colin & Jacqui Hawkins' RHYME-AND-READ series in hardback to celebrate its forthcoming 25th Anniversary in 2008. We think that this unique set of books, using 'Onset and rime' phonics around the five vowel sounds is as funny and relevant - if not more - for today's children as they were a generation ago, particularly since the teaching of phonics has now become a key part of the national literacy education plans.
Pat & Pals is about embracing the digital world fully, with the launch of a set of entertaining RHYME-AND-READ eBooks to complement the hardbacks and provide an interactive learning experience for children and their parents. These e-books, to be downloaded and played from a PC desktop, bring Pat and his friends Jen, Mig, Tog and Zug to life, animating them and reacting to interactions from children, alongside a specially commissioned audio and music track for each book.
